Patricia Edwards

Too often I have heard clients say they are waiting for their life to get better or be what they want instead of accepting their life now and embracing who they are. Once you accept your life, you can move past misery and pain, discomfort and issues from the past. I focus on who you are NOW and what needs to happen to live the life you want.

“Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of fear.” George Addair

Focus on treatment with compassion, considering body, mind, and spirit. I use a humanistic approach and evidence practices, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I like to use humor and creative expression during sessions.

I have visited 14 countries. Everywhere I traveled was an adventure in culture and humanity. It allowed me to see how each country valued their people. It also gave me an awareness of one’s personal values, needs, and culture.

I previosly worked in a local county jail as a program manager, helping inmates rehabilitate during drug and alcohol treatment, GED studies, continuing education, and assimilation into the community. I also worked in sobriety court as case manager, following alongside participants as they completed their program.

My professional practice has involved providing emergency services, individual and group counseling at a community mental health agency, and then serving as a behavioral health counselor at medical centers. Treatment included medical, psychiatric, mental health, health education, and community resource support within a team environment
